I am so so so so so excited to read this!!!! This is my favorite series, and you are my favorite author!!! You put such work in your book, and I can feel the emotion of the characters!! I am so so so so excited to read this and I’m going to ask my friends to get this for the church library!!!
Also P.S. please don’t ever kill of Jigson.. or Phil… I don’t cry in books or movies, but I almost cried the first time I read that Jigson ‘died’ when he was really in the agency’s custody hehe. Jigson needs to be alive until he’s an old man!!

Our dear Miss Hedgcock. We greatly enjoyed reading about Phil and Briosa, and if Abby would ever be in a relationship, we think that it would be wonderful if that person would be Rolf!
These are our thoughts:
1-Fergus, as Grandma Baker has noted, is sweet. But so is Abby. Which could make them an unbalanced pair. (Character-wise) Abby is sweet, sensible, and shy at times; Rolf is confident, outgoing, and slightly arrogant. In our opinion, Abby’s and Rolf’s characters compensate each other better.
2-Phil is better friends with Rolf than with Fergus, Alistair, or anyone else for that matter. Same as = Abby is closer friends with Briosa than with Anna, Cassidy, or Emily.
3-Abby is the only girl that understands Rolf, and can handle his outbursts. And Abby is the only girl (or even person!) that Rolf listens to.
4-In our opinion…Rolf and Abby would just make a wonderful pair! 🙂

Yes, these are entirely my thoughts as well!! You brought up really good points, except I am wondering about the third point. I can’t remember when Abby handled Rolf’s outbursts and when Rolf listened to Abby? But I so agree (and so wish) that Rolf and Abby would fit each other very well.
It was more of an “in general way”. There were a couple of these examples in Rescue in the Rockies; when Rolf wanted to do something, but Abby said otherwise, and he would listen to her. We got the third point from asking ourselves each time a similar scenario would happen: would Rolf do what he was told if Millie said the same thing? No. Emily? Cassidy? Most likely not.
And what we meant about “handling outbursts”, was that any other female character could not tolerate Rolf’s arrogance the way Abby does.
And yes! We wholeheartedly agree with you!

I absolutely adored it all…I read it when I got it for Christmas, so it’s not Too fresh on my mind, but— I loved the western feel of the entire story.
I thought it was Way fun to read about the Freylads’ new experiences in the Western USA…one of my sisters begged me to read it aloud to the rest of my siblings during lunch a few weeks back, and everyone was laughing so hard and getting really wound up in suspense over the continuous hazards which kept popping up…
I loved Phil’s struggle 😂 🙌 ❤️
It was so realistically portrayed…and I’ve always enjoyed reading about Briosa (she’s just so spunky & unpredictable)…those 2 are just some of my fav characters ❤️
I have a lot to say too, but I’m kinda nervous about giving anything away since I know several people who haven’t read it yet. I go to church with several BFA fans now, and they haven’t read it yet. Yes, they are being bothered every week.
Yes, I totally get it, Parker!! It’s so hard not spilling everything before others have had the chance to read it lol 😀 That’s really cool that you go to church with other BFA fans…my siblings and I are all fans, but I think I have only one friend (not online) who lives *close by* who likes the series too 🙂

I still think Abby and Fergus would be nice. I just don’t like the way Rolf acts sometimes. The way he acted to Fergus.
And Abby knows Fergus a little more. and Rolf is a little hard to understand. His mood swings.
I don’t know about you Callie, but Fergus drives me a little NUTS! I was a little annoyed to read about all his backward logic.
Haha, yeah XD — it was definitely an eye-opener for me …a good reminder that the world doesn’t see things like believers in Jesus Christ do. It IS backward!! Only God can do such a miracle in people’s lives to turn them around and point them to Himself ❤
i wonder if there is a tune that goes along with Fergus’s poem\song? i would like to have a copy.
